Mission Overview & Payload Insight

Crew-12 is SpaceX’s twelfth operational crew rotation mission to the International Space Station under NASA’s Commercial Crew Program. The mission will transport a four-person international crew aboard a Crew Dragon spacecraft to the ISS for a long-duration science expedition.

This flight continues SpaceX’s role as NASA’s primary U.S. crew transportation provider, ensuring continuous human presence aboard the space station. Crew-12 astronauts will spend approximately six months in orbit, conducting scientific research, technology demonstrations, and station maintenance.

Science & Objectives

During their stay aboard the ISS, the Crew-12 astronauts will:

  • Conduct microgravity experiments in biology, human health, materials science, and Earth observation

  • Support ongoing ISS operations and maintenance

  • Perform spacewalk preparations and potential extravehicular activities

  • Contribute to research that supports future deep-space missions, including Artemis lunar exploration

Why This Launch Is Special

  • Crewed launches offer some of the most dramatic and emotional launch experiences on Florida’s Space Coast

  • Launch from historic LC-39A, used for Apollo, Space Shuttle, and Artemis missions

  • Daytime launches often provide excellent visibility of the Falcon 9 ascent and stage separation

  • Reinforces Kennedy Space Center’s role as the world’s busiest human spaceflight port
