Mission Overview

The Starlink Group 6-89 mission will launch a large batch of next-generation Starlink V2-mini satellites—continuing the expansion of SpaceX’s global broadband satellite network. According to tracking information, this launch is expected to carry 29 satellites and cost approximately $52 million

These V2-mini satellites enhance network capacity and performance with improved propulsion, antennas, and network flexibility—important for global coverage, low latency, and providing internet access to remote regions.

The mission will also include a first stage booster landing attempt aboard the drone ship A Shortfall of Gravitas, supporting SpaceX’s reuse strategy and operational cadence.

 Visitor & Viewing Tips

  • Best viewing spots: Playalinda Beach, Jetty Park, Cocoa Beach Pier, and Titusville Riverfront Park offer east-facing views with ocean backdrop—ideal for night launches.

  • Arrive early: The “night-of-day” timing means arriving well ahead of time to secure parking and find a good vantage point.

  • Bring: Camera with long exposure capability, binoculars, folding chair, water, insect repellent and warm layer for early morning.
