Add This Event to Your CalendarDate: Oct 13, 2025
Location: SLC-40, Cape Canaveral SFS, Florida, USA
Launch Time: 8:08 PM
Rocket: Falcon 9 Block 5
Payload: 24 Amazon Project Kuiper satellites
Mission Overview
Amazon’s Project Kuiper is building a massive broadband constellation of 3,236 satellites to provide high-speed, low-latency internet access worldwide, including underserved and remote regions. The KF-03 mission marks the third Kuiper launch of 2025, deploying 24 satellites into low Earth orbit at ~630 km altitude.
These satellites join the growing Kuiper fleet, bringing Amazon closer to activating service across multiple regions.
Payload Technical Highlights
-
Platform & Build: Each satellite is a production model equipped with advanced phased-array antennas, capable of dynamic beam steering to direct bandwidth where it’s most needed.
-
Propulsion: Uses argon Hall-effect electric thrusters, offering efficient orbit-raising and station-keeping with improved thrust over earlier Starlink designs.
-
Inter-Satellite Links: Optical laser crosslinks allow satellites to communicate directly with one another in orbit, reducing dependence on ground stations and lowering latency.
-
Constellation Architecture: Satellites will populate the 630 km orbital shell, one of three layers in Kuiper’s constellation design (590 km, 610 km, and 630 km).
-
Service Goals: Supports high-throughput broadband connectivity, from dense cities to isolated islands, with agility to prioritize coverage in high-demand regions or emergency situations.
