Mission Overview:
GPS III SV08 is the eighth satellite in the third generation of the Global Positioning System (GPS III), developed by Lockheed Martin for the U.S. Space Force. This advanced navigation satellite will be launched by SpaceX's Falcon 9 following a reassignment from ULA's Vulcan launch manifest.
Program Objectives:
- Improve global positioning, navigation, and timing (PNT) services
- Deliver enhanced anti-jam capabilities for superior signal security and accuracy
- Incorporate cross-linked command and control, enabling simultaneous updates to the entire GPS constellation
